Our baby boy is 9 months old! Where has the time gone? It's been amazing watching him grow and learn. He's babbling so much these days and even has a few words mixed in amongst the baby talk, "up", "hi","woof" and "roooar". He still loves to scream as much as ever and enjoys making us laugh. He loves table food now and we love having dinner all together. Every day is better than the next and we're looking forward to the first birthday, which will be before we know it. He is the absolute joy of our lives!

JJ and I planned to take John to Color Me Mine in RSM so they could make painted hand prints for John to keep as a special reminder of his very first father's day. We all had a wonderful time and it fit the "art" theme that kind of developed for the day. Happy Father's day to my amazing hubby and JJ's incredible dada!

We took JJ to the Santa Ana zoo. I was so surprised to see all the different types of monkeys. We were so happy that there were so many monkeys because they are JJ's favorite!

I snapped a ton of pictures of JJ creating the art and then put them on a digital "brag book" for John to take with him to work. John loved it and the painitngs are now in his office.

We took JJ to Zoomar's petting zoo in San Juan and boy did he love it! He loved touching all the animals. The poor little guinea pigs squealed when he grabbed their fur. We'll be doing the pony rides for sure next time we go back.

John Jr.'s Baptism

John Jr. was baptised by Fr. Craig Butters, the same priest who performed my confirmation ceremony and who was a priest at our High School. I was pregnant with JJ when I was confirmed Catholic and Fr. Craig asked us if he could do the baptism when our baby was born. It was such an emotional and spiritual experience. We were so happy to have our family and friends witness such a special day in JJ's life. And we were so blessed to have Bill and Traci Goshen, and Kate Toman and Chris Moriarty as JJ's godparents. We were so proud of JJ, he was such a good boy during the entire ceremony and seemed to be having a good time too!

My First Mother's Day

We decided to go to down to Sea World on a whim. I am so glad we did! JJ loved it, he especially loved looking at the penguins. We also got to meet miss Ava Elizabeth Bitterlin. She's a doll!! JJ was so in love. The exciting day really tired the two babies out.

It's truly amazing how time flys! We cannot believe our baby boy is already 6 months old. We can still remember every detail of the day he was born, it doesn't feel like it's been 6 months at all. He's grown and changed so much since September 24th. He's eating solid food, has likes and dislikes and loves to squeal. Our hearts haven't stopped growing since the day he made us into a family of three. We're having the time of our lives!

Reno for New Years

We took JJ to Reno for his very first trip! We were of course a little nervous about how he'd handle flying but he was so good. He almost slept the entire time, both ways. We had the best time in Reno relaxing, skiing, site seeing and playing in the snow. It was so fun to have JJ see his very first snow! I love Reno, it's beautiful year round.

We had to wait an extra week to give JJ his bath. His cord came off a little before it was ready so we had to continue to give him sponge baths until it completely healed. I think we were all so anxious for this first big moment. He really liked it!

Our beautiful son was welcomed into this world on September 24th, 2008 at 8:33am, weighing 7lbs 8oz, 19 inches long. After laboring at home starting around midnight on the 23rd, the morning came and John and I were contemplating weather or not we should head to the hospital. I wasn't having regular contractions but they were getting stronger. A few minutes later at 6:36 am my water broke! I jumped out of bed and took a shower as John called our dr. and packed up the truck. I was having major contractions by the time I got out of the shower. John decided then that he wanted to shower. So after we both had showered we were on our way to Mission Hospital. I was in so much pain and my contractions were so close that John sped the whole way and even ran a few red lights. We pulled up to the hospital, John ran in and said "my wife is in labor"! I was then taken up to labor and delivery in a wheel chair. I checked in and got into my gown. Then John took a picture of the clock,which is so significant now, we were there and ready at 7:31am. I got hooked up to the monitors and the nurse noticed my contractions were coming on strong. She checked me and I was dilated 6 cm. It took them a while to find my veins and get my IV. At that moment I kind of had a feeling that my labor was going to be drug free. I kept asking for the epidural but they said that the dr. was in a c-section and that a blood test would have to be run before I could get the epi. It was at that moment that John asked the nurse if I was going to get an epidural and she said "no". Our son was on his way and there was no time to stall. The nurse heard my dr. in the hall and proceeded to bring him in. He had to take a call and I asked the nurse if I was going to get the epidural and she said "no honey". I then asked her "is there anything you can give me"?!! And it was then that I realized that there was no turning back and that this was how my labor was going to be. After some intense contractions and pain my nurse checked me and I was dilated 9 cm. That's when things started flying! The dr. got all ready, the "tools" were wheeled in, nurses running in and out and John and I were given a 10 second lesson on Lamaze breathing. To say it was a whirlwind is an understatement! I did 2 and a half pushes and John Paul Jr. was here!! Nothing can describe how amazing it was to see our son and to finally hold him. So precious, tiny and new! And the pain...well it was all worth it. One of the most amazing moments of our lives.

I was so proud to be a bridesmaid in my dear friend Christen's wedding. The wedding took place at the beautiful Oja Valley Inn. They ceremony was breathtaking! Chandeliers and gorgeous orchids dripping from the branches of the most beautiful oak tree overlooking a gorgeous valley. And the reception was stunning. White and green orchids surrounded by candlelight everywhere! But none of that compared to how stunning Christen looked. She was so radiant and her and Benj were just bursting with happiness! My parents moved to Reno in the summer. I was so shocked to hear that they were moving to Reno from living in Southern California for so long, but once we visited I could see why. Where they live is beautiful and so clean. They love their neighbors and neighborhood.Their home backs up to Mt. Rose and they're only about 30 minutes to Lake Tahoe...what more could you ask for?

The day after our reunion we flew out to Boston to visit Kate and her new fiance, Chris! They showed us the best time! We saw all the sights, did the duck tour (except for Chris because he's anti) and even got to see our Angels beat The Sox at Fenway. What a incredible time! The city is wonderful and it was so special being able to celebrate Kate's engagement!! Congratulations Kate and Chris, can't wait for the big day!!

My college roomie and her family came to California for 4th of July weekend to see some family. We were lucky enough to spend the day with them while they were here. I finally got to meet her babies! Ramsey Claire and Henry. They are such beautiful children!! I loved taking their pictures, such good models! We went to Ruby's in Balboa, the spectrum and us adults had dinner at Canon's that night. It was such a wonderful visit. Hopefully we'll get to out to Louisiana to see them soon.

I recieved a generous gift card to the Montage from my boss in appreciation for some work I had done and a big project. So we decided to put that towards a stay there on our actual anniversary, which was mid week. It was fun to take a little "mini-vacay" to celebrate our anniversary. I wish we took pics at the pool, the view was fabulous! The hotel staff was wondeful, they even sent us strawberries and champange for our special day.

On March 22, 2008 I confirmed my faith and officially became Catholic. One of the best days of my life! RCIA was a long process, but I met some amazing people and had a wonderful time. The ceremony was on Easter Vigil. Easter has always been my favorite holiday and this just confirmed why! Thank you to those who where there for me, I love you!

Super Bowl XLII

There was so much going on in Phoenix leading up to the game. Lots of concerts, food, drinks, games, and even a mini hall of fame. We spent a few days checking out everything before the big game. Giants vs Patriots! What a game!! The first quarter seemed like forever, but the last quarter was intense. It was so much fun, I highly recommend it!

On January 26th, 2008 we found out that we were going to be parents! I took a pregnancy test while John was training some athletes. When I saw the positive sign I was amazed! John actually wanted me to take it while he wasn't home because I assured him that it was going to be negative, boy was I wrong! As soon as I got over the initial amazement and shock I ran out to WalMart and bought a bottle and some baby booties. I quickly came home, put the pregnancy test in the bottle and tied pink and blue ribbon to both the bottle and booties. I put them in our entry way along with candles and some photos of us and waited for John to come home. I hid around the corner as I heard him unlocking the door. When he came in I peeked around the corner and saw his face, a look I had never seen before. He was in awe and so joyful. He looked at me and said "we're pregnant"?! We gave each other the biggest hug ever and I of course cried. We were just so thankful for this amazing blessing.

For John's birthday I got us tickets to the 49ers vs Cardinals game. We took a little flight to Phoenix to see some football. We got to see John's former CU teammate, Micheal Lewis play. We really lucked out because this game was one of the best 49ers games of the season. Go niners!!

Amy and Shaun got married in Cabo on Oct 6, 2007. There wedding was beautiful! What an amaing location. I had never been to Cabo before...it is now one of my favorite places! I couldn't believe how blue the water and how white the sand was. It was so fun being there with such good friends and making friends along the way. John, Claire and I went deep sea fishing one day and John caught a white marlin...which we got to enjoy for lunch that day, talk about fresh.

We were thrilled when we found out a couple friend of ours, Leasa and Dane, were as big of country music fans as we are! So we invited them to come to the Kenny Chesney concert with us since John was able to score 4 tickets. We had never done Vegas just two couples before and it was really fun! We had a blast at the concert on Friday night and then decided to get our own "private room" at the Foundation Room on Saturday night. That's where we met the infamous "Pretty Tony" a certafied pimp!...I wish I had a picture because a description wouldn't even do him justice. When's the next Vegas trip??

Wine bar birthday

On April 20, 2007 I turned 27, wow! My best friend Kym from Texas flew in and surprised me, boy was I surprised!! I am usually never surprised and this was such a wonderful treat! John planned a fun party for me at the Wine Artist, a great wine bar and bottling place in Irvine. We enjoyed some wine and then headed to Hennessey's in Laguna for some dancing and more drinks. Thank goodness Shaun was with us...I forgot my ID and Shaun vogued for me. We also called on our favorite cabbie Jake to get us home safely. You can always count on Jake!

Our one year anniversary...in Paris!

Our anniversary trip to Paris got off to a rough start...we were re-routed from Orange County to LAX and then didn't leave LAX until 4 hours after our original flight time. Then instead of flying to London, we were flown to Newark, then London, then Paris. Of course the airline lost our luggage on top of all that. But we were in PARIS!!! so all of that other stuff didn't matter :) We saw all the sights, The Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Arch de Triumph, Notre Dame and Sacre-Coeur to name a few. It was such an adventurous and romantic trip. Some of the best food we ever had...especially those yummy crepes. One of our favorite nights was just going out to the local store, grabbing some wine, cheese and bread and having our own "picnic". Luck was on our side on our way home though...some how we were upgraded from business to first class, what a treat and perfect ending to a fabulous anniversary!

Colorado Trip

We spent President's day weekend, and Katie S.'s birthday of 2007 in Colorado! 2/15/07-2/19/07. We took a ski trip and stayed in a fun little cabin that belonged to Katie's Aunt's really good friend. The weather was cold, so cold, but it made for great snow! One day it was a total "white-out" it snowed so much. We had a blast. The guys snowboarded and us girls skied. Some of the highlights included: playing apples to apples, the "hand slap" game, locking the keys in the car, and the snowball fight! Here are just a few pics of the wonderful time we had. Maybe one day we'll get to do it again!

The Shook family always throws the most fantastic parties, but their Halloween tops them all! This years "theme" was Alice In Wonderland, hence Breann's scary Alice costume. It was so much fun! Lots of fun costumes that year as well. John and I decied to go as "Johnny and June Cash". After watching Walk The Line about 50 times that year we decided to do a tribute :) I don't have that many good pics because the awesome fog machine them a little too hazy.

I was never a debutant, but my sister was! We attended her debutant ball on May 13, 2006. After just having our wedding less than 2 months prior, the whole family was still in "party" mode. We danced all night and has a blast! Thanks Amy for a fantastic night, we'll never forget it!

We spent our fabulous honeymoon in Moorea and Bora Bora of the French Polynesian Islands. It was absolutely breathtaking and super romantic! We didn't want to leave we were so in love with eveything. We relaxed, snorkled, scubadived, ate, drank, ate some more and soaked up some sun. These pictures don't even do it justice. It truly is one of the most amazing places we have ever been to.

John and I were married on March 25th 2006! It's almost been 3 years since that wonderful day. We can hardly believe it! Time has gone by way too fast...but we're loving every minute of it. We often talk about our wedding day and love to look at our wedding photos and video. It was the perfect day filled with love, family and friends. We hope to one day we'll do it all over again! That blesssed day marks the begning of our family!
